A Green Hotel in NYC
We aren’t trying to save the planet or anything (but it is certainly a long term goal!). Instead, we simply want to do our part in trying to make our company and the way we do business as sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible. We also want to give a little bit back to our community and the people with whom we share this lovely planet. We believe what is good for the planet also tends to be pretty good for people. On top of all that, it’s no coincidence that our CEO’s last name is “Greene.”
One of the things we are most proud of is that, in September 2012, we were awarded LEED® “Gold” certification by the U.S. Green Building Council for demonstrating remarkable green building leadership when constructing and operating our environmentally friendly hotel in New York. We are also very pleased of the fact that we are the only green hotel in NYC in our set to obtain the gold status.

We are also proud to announce that YOTEL New York has been accepted as a 2013 Gold Level GreenLeader into the TripAdvisor® GreenLeaders™ program, which helps travelers plan greener trips by identifying environmentally-friendly accommodations across the U.S.
To ensure YOTEL continues to grow as a company that is considered an environmentally friendly business, we are making green and sustainable policies part of our brand standards. We designated ”Green” team champions in all our hotels who encourage their teams to continue improving our sustainability record.
Our CANI (Constant And Never-ending Innovation) teams have sustainability as one of their key criteria when evaluating ideas. YOTEL is proud to be a New York City green hotel.
